About soksabbaai
Who we are
soksabbaai is a commonly used Cambodian greeting, meaning good health and happiness. Since March 2004, Soksabbaai is also the name of a non-profit training and income generating project, seeking to equip Cambodians to run a small tailoring business.
This project brought forth a collection of tasteful high quality clothes for young children, with the name soksabbaai. The children's clothes and pyjama's that bear the name soksabbaai, have a very high quality and an original design.
Until the beginning of this year several small tailoring businesses have been started by people who have been trained by Soksabbaai.
Since January 2010 soksabbaai itself has been handed over to the Cambodian staff. They are the owners now and are fully capable and very enthusiastic to run it themselves. There is still a big emphasis on training other people next to maintaining the high quality Soksabbaai is now known for.
Our products
The children's clothes and pyjama's that bear the name soksabbaai, have a very high quality and an original design. Every piece is made by one person, so no mass production and boring work. This way the work varies more, the people are involved with the clothes from the beginning to the end, and they are familiar with everything that is necessary to make these clothes.
Our suppliers
All our materials are bought in Cambodia. For our classic-collection we use materials that are hand woven in the Cambodian countryside. We only buy these materials from suppliers that have the same ethics about working conditions and fair trade as we do.
